On Wednesday, February 9, Aaron Smith will provide an update on OMSA’s Jones Act Enforcement Activities and how you and your employees can be involved.

As members know, one of OMSA’s two primary missions is to better enforcement of the Jones Act. Through administrative, legislative, judicial, public relations, and even the JONES ACT ENFORCER, OMSA’s efforts are working, few foreign vessels are found in the Gulf of Mexico than ever before. Despite these successes, Jones Act enforcement is not where we want it to be or where a strict reading of the law says it should be.

Thus, our work continues. However, your OMSA staff cannot do this work alone, we need the support of your companies and your workers to ensure that the great message our industry has to tell is heard in Washington DC. Toward this end, come hear an update on OMSA’s efforts from OMSA’s President and chief lobbyist Aaron Smith as he describes our next steps.
