Join your fellow OMSA Memberships for the September Regulatory Meeting! Please contact Ashley Smith with additional suggestions on agenda topics and speakers! To get you all thinking about possible ideas, I have included our current topics below. Current topics include: - Medical Certificate Approvals
- Action item: We are requesting that member companies bring a written example of the worst experience in getting medical certificates approved…no names, just the facts!
- DP – OMSA will be discussing updates, including:
- NOSAC attempts to get USCG to regulate DP operations,
- USCG requests that IMO mandate DP certificates, and
- Creation of OMSA DP Working Group.
- Federal Advisory Committee Updates – Membership, attendance and updates on latest activities.
- Safer Seas Act Updates
- Reinstating the OMSA Workforce Development Committee –
- Action item: Come ready with your biggest challenges in hiring (IE moving from 100 – 500 ton Master, upgrading OS to AB, etc.)
